FinWallet – Privacy policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
FinWallet is a personal finance app for Android published by Sandaur Apps. This policy explains what happens to the information you enter in it.
Short version
Your records stay on your phone. FinWallet has no accounts, no servers, no ads and no analytics, does not use the internet, and does not collect or share your personal information. The only information we ever receive is what you choose to send us when you sign up for the beta test through the form on our website (see "Beta test signup").
What the app stores
Everything you enter (income and spending records, accounts, transfers, loans and their installments, budgets, recurring records and recurring transfers, categories) and your settings (theme, language, date format, first day of the month), and the images you attach to records (such as a receipt photo), are saved only in the app's private storage on your device. If you close the form for a new record without saving, what you had typed is kept on your device as a draft so you do not lose it; it is erased when you save the record or press Cancel. Sandaur Apps cannot see any of this.
What the app does not do
- It does not send your financial data to any server.
- It does not use advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services of its own.
- It does not connect to your bank, and it does not ask for your location, contacts, camera or microphone.
- It does not sell or share information with third parties.
Google Play statistics
Google Play may give developers aggregated reports, such as crashes and performance (Android vitals), from users who chose to share that data in their device settings. Sandaur Apps receives no personal information through these reports.
Scanning receipts
To scan a receipt, FinWallet opens your phone's own camera app. The photo is read on your phone to find the total and the shop's name, using Google's ML Kit text recognition, a library whose model is part of the app, so it works without internet and the photo is not sent anywhere. FinWallet keeps the photo only as an image of the record you save, in the app's private storage. If you cancel the form or take the photo off, it is deleted; you can also remove it from the record at any time. The app does not use the internet, so nothing the reader processes can leave your phone. You can also share an image to FinWallet from another app (for example the screenshot of a digital receipt): it is read the same way, and only when you choose to share it.
Exporting and importing your data
In Settings you can export everything you entered (records, accounts, transfers, loans, budgets, recurring records, categories, the images attached to records and your settings) to a JSON file, and import a file made that way. Both only happen when you choose them. The file is saved in the place you pick with Android's file selector; FinWallet does not send it anywhere and does not use the internet. The file is not encrypted: anyone who has it can read your financial data, so keep it somewhere safe, and think before sharing it or saving it in a cloud service (that would be your own choice, under that service's terms). Importing replaces everything in the app with the file's contents.
Beta test signup
This section applies only to people who sign up for the FinWallet beta test through the form on our website; it does not concern the app itself. The form asks for the email of your Google account and, if you wish, your name or a nickname, and for your agreement to us using them. We use this data only to invite you to the beta test and to write to you about it. We do not sell it or share it with third parties. Google processes it, because Google hosts the form (Google Forms) and Google Play runs the test, each under its own terms. We keep it until the beta test ends and for 90 days at most afterwards. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to the contact below. Signing up is optional and does not change how the app works: the app still sends us nothing.
Permissions
- Camera: the app asks for no camera permission, because your camera app takes the photo and hands it back.
- Notifications: to remind you of recurring records that were added or are waiting for you. They are created on your phone by the app itself; no notification server is involved. You can turn them off in Settings.
- Screen lock or biometrics: when you delete an account with many records, the app asks Android to verify you with your fingerprint, face or screen lock. Android performs the check; FinWallet never receives your biometric data or PIN.
Security
Your data lives in the app's private storage, which Android protects from other apps. FinWallet does not add its own encryption. Because everything is on your device, protect it with a screen lock: anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app, and if you lose the phone you lose access to the data unless you have a backup. If you add the FinWallet widget to your home screen, it shows your balance and budget figures there, so anyone who sees that screen can see them; remove the widget if you do not want that.
Backups by Google
Android can back up app data to your Google account if the device's backup setting is on. If so, your FinWallet data may be stored there under Google's own privacy terms. You control this in your device settings (Google › Backup). Sandaur Apps has no access to these backups.
External links
The app opens two kinds of links only when you tap them: this privacy policy, which opens in your browser, and the app's page on Google Play from "Rate this app". FinWallet sends no data of yours to them.
Your control and your rights
Since all your data is on your phone, you exercise your rights directly in the app: you can see, edit and delete each record, and use Settings › Restore all default values to erase everything. Uninstalling the app removes all its data from the device. If you have questions, write to the contact below; we aim to answer within 30 days.
Children
FinWallet has no minimum age because the app does not collect information from anyone. The beta test signup, which needs a Google account, is not aimed at children.
Possible future bank connection
The app does not connect to any bank today. If a bank connection (for example through Fintoc) is added in the future, it will only work with your explicit consent, this policy will be updated before it is released, and the app will tell you about the change.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date, and the app will notify you in the next update.

- No envía tus datos financieros a ningún servidor.
Exportar e importar tus datos
FinWallet no agrega cifrado propio.
Enlaces externos
